School of the Nations reports good UK results

SCHOOL of the Nations (Guyana) has reported a 97 per cent pass rate at the Cambridge University (UK) Advanced Level (AL) Examinations.
Following the release of the results on Wednesday night, the School Director, Dr. Brian told the Guyana Chronicle: “We’re absolutely delighted. This is the highest pass rate in our 15-year history and would compare very favourably with some of the top schools internationally.”
In Biology, Business, Chemistry, Environmental Management and Law, 60 per cent of the results were graded ‘C’ or above. Eighty per cent of the Psychology and 75 per cent of Physics earned ‘C’ grade or above.
Amongst the outstanding performers were:
* Geran Collymore with As in Business and Psychology and a B in Economics;
* Gabriella Edwards:  A (with distinction) in Law and A in Psychology;
* Chrysta Yan:  As in Sociology, Law and Psychology and B in English;
* Priyanka Sookraj: As in Law, Psychology and Sociology;
* Melissa Ram:  As in Business and Economics and a B in Accounts;
* Sarah Chandebas: As in Psychology and Sociology;
* Olly Perriera: As in Biology and Chemistry and a C in Maths;
* William Gopie: An A in Chemistry, Bs in Biology, Maths and Environmental
Management; 
* Sarina Kawall: An A in Business, B in Psychology and Literature;
* Daniel Panday: Bs in Biology, Chemistry and Maths;
* Shaliya Rahaman: An A in Economics and a B in Business;
* Latchman Tiwari: An A in Chemistry and a B in Physics;
* Erin Forte:  An A in Sociology and a B in Psychology and
* Maria Singh:  Bs in Computing and Psychology

The school also disclosed results for the Cambridge University (UK) International ‘O’ Level Examinations. Of the 51 students writing a total of 350 exams in 19 subject areas, 100 per cent passes were achieved in Biology, Environmental Management, History, Literature, Spanish and Travel Tourism. 
In addition, pass rates of between 90 and 99 per cent were attained in Chemistry, English Language, Geography, Information Technology, Physics and Sociology.
Overall, 91 per cent of the examinations written saw the achievement of an A to E passing rate; 68.3 per cent of the tests written achieved a grade of A, B or C.
