Money is secondary to the Word of God

WITH the world economy in a seeming free fall it is important to stress that money is of secondary importance to the Word of God, which is the foundation of all reality. The real problem is not the economy but morality. When morality disappears, when men begin treating each other as mere commodities, and this mind-set becomes official government policy, then economies falter.
Today we dream of building a society apart from God; a world where men and women might live wholly sufficient unto themselves, satisfying their needs and desires through their own ingenuity.
In his sermon, on the Mount, Jesus speaks of building one’s house foundation upon either sand or upon rock. Those who build on sand do so only on visible and tangible things: on success, career and money.
These may seem as true reality, but one day they will pass away. We see this happening now with our collapsing economic systems. God, however, who is infinite, is stable like heaven. Hence, we must change our concept of reality. We must return to our moral roots.
