24/7 proprietor offering $1M reward for gunmen

ANTHONY Snow, proprietor of 24/7 Restaurant and Bar, located in the Harbour Bridge Mall at Mc Doom, East Bank Demerara, is offering a $1M reward for information leading to the arrest of two men, who went to his business place enquiring for him, before beating an elderly security guard at an adjoining establishment. He told the Guyana Chronicle that, last August 4, between 22:20 hrs and 22:32 hrs, the gunmen ascended the stairs to enquire of him but went back down and attacked a guard they thought was working at 24/7.
A review of the surveillance tape showed the two men walking about looking around and one was seen answering his cell phone a number of times as they, apparently, surveyed the premises.
Snow said: “They were in search of someone but they did not find that person.”
He said they later brandished firearms at the Harbour Bridge Mall security guard and attempted to make it look like a robbery but it was not a robbery because nothing was taken from any of the customers at 24/7.
“All they did was beat up the security guard while they were asking where they could find me,” Snow related to this newspaper.
He said the security guard “fought them, gave them a nice little hassle. He is a very old man but he managed to slap a gun out of the hands of one of them before they beat him badly,” Snow said.
He  said, too, that when his personal security arrived on the scene, the gunmen ran away, leaving the old security guard bleeding.
Snow is asking anyone with information as to the identity of the two gunmen in the photographs to call him on telephone numbers 233-6523 or 622-1957 or  contact the Providence, Eve Leary or Brickdam Police stations with information.
“Informants can also contact our United States office, at 011-347-577-1010 and the reward will be paid in cash on delivery of the wanted individuals,” he said. (Johann Earle)
