THE Peoples Progressive Party yesterday issued a statement notifying the public, particularly its many followers on the Internet, to be on the alert for the creation of fake websites attempting to align themselves to the party and its activities. This warning, the statement says, comes in the wake of the creation recently of a faked Facebook profile site for the party’s Presidential Candidate, Mr. Donald Ramotar.
In order to differentiate between the original Facebook site for Mr. Ramotar and the faked one, the statement says, the former uses the correct spelling of his name, while the imposter spells his name with a ‘U’, as in Donald Ra-mo-U-tar.
Noting that those behind the phony site have already been alerted of the infringement, the PPP says in its statement that this is but the latest incident since the recent hacking of the party’s Facebook site, the integrity of which has since been restored.
