PATRICK Prashad returned to winning form when he won the Sanjay’s Jewellery Medal Play golf tournament Saturday at the Lusignan Golf Course.
He shot a net 69 to come out victorious ahead of 35 golfers who braved the weather to compete. Imran Khan secured second position with a net 70 while third place went to Bholawram Deo who shot a net 70.
Nearest to the Pin was Vijay Deo.
Secretary of the LGC, William Walker, expressed gratitude to Sanjay Persaud, Managing Director of Sanjay’s Jewellery for sponsoring Saturday’s tournament.
According to Walker, Sanjay’s Jewellery is truly a committed sponsor.
Meanwhile, heavy showers on Monday washed out the planned farewell golf tournament for outgoing Canadian High Commissioner Francois Montour, scheduled for yesterday at the Lusignan Golf Club, East Coast Demerara.
Officials disclosed that the tournament would now take place on Saturday at the same venue.
