Two more witnesses testify in Clifton Bonus shallow grave murder

Two more witnesses appeared when the preliminary inquiry continued on Tuesday and Wednesday into the murder of Clifton ‘Mutty’ Bonus (Jr.) also know as ‘Mutty’, for the number one accused Lakeraj Fredericks and number two accused Harley Tyson,  before Magistrate Ann McLennan at the Christianburg Magistrate’s court.
Fredericks, 23, and Tyson, 16, are jointly charged with the murder of Clifton Bonus, who was killed on last June at Old England, Linden.
The two, Fredericks who seemed unmoved and Tyson who appeared somewhat uneasy, are jointly charged with the murder of Bonus. The witnesses called on Tuesday were, Lance Corporal Ronald Denny, and the grandfather of the dead man, Cedric Lashley.
The day before, Police Detective Corporal Troy Yorrick, and Bonus’s mother, Karen Lashley also testified..
On Tuesday as she was called upon to give a statement of her testimony, Lashley shed tears and had to be comforted by the court prosecutor, Deneshwar Nauth.
On Tuesday, a statement signed by Fredericks was tendered into evidence after Fredericks said he had no objection to it.
Lance Corporal Ronald Denny, on Wednesday, testified that he arrested Harley ‘Boy’ Tyson, after he was brought to the Mackenzie Police Station by his stepfather, Aloysius Oudkerk.
Denny reported that he informed Tyson of the allegation against him, about the murder of Clifton ‘Mutty’ Bonus, and Tyson responded “I ain’t kill nobody, I just help bury the body.”
After that, the juvenile was arrested by Denny who cautioned him about his rights, and Tyson denied the murder allegation.
Tyson then gave a signed statement, which was signed also by his stepfather Aloysius Oudkerk and Detective Constable Grannum.
According to Denny, based on the information they got, a police patrol, led by Corporal Yorrick, went to the backdam area in Nottinghamshire, behind Old England, and on arrival there, he saw three camps constructed of wood and tarpaulin.
It was then that Harley ‘Boy’ Tyson whispered to him something and took him another half a mile east of the camps, where he showed him a spot covered with dry branches.
He said he used a spade, and after digging about half-a-foot down, he saw the body that appeared to be a male of “mixed race,” clad in brown pants. The body had started to decompose, and he discovered two circular wounds behind the left ear, suspected to be gunshots.
Denny said that Tyson positively identified the body as that of Clifton Bonus Jr. and Tyson’s statement was admitted as evidence in court without any objection.
When the statement was shown to the number one accused, Lakeraj Fredericks, he said he could not read, but had no objections to it being tendered as evidence.
The Magistrate then read the charge against both Tyson and Fredericks for the murder of Clifton ‘Mutty’ Bonus at Nottinghamshire backlands on Friday June 4th, 2011.

Tyson reportedly worked on the farm with Fredericks in the Nottinghamshire area, before Bonus was murdered.
After being able to elude police, Tyson was captured after he allegedly committed another murder at First Street, Garden of Eden, and was on the run. That victim was identified as Vernon Renaldo, 22.
