Blind fury

IT is an understatement to say that I am absolutely enraged with Malcolm Harripaul, for his article, ‘Granger advocates democracy whilst Ramotar touts Stalinism’ in the July 25 edition of the  Kaieteur News.
The piece reeks of personal vendetta.
I need to remind the Harripauls that the bottom line of politics is that, irrespective of who is leading and regardless of what philosophy is embraced and practiced, grass root peoples are basically interested in having a quality life. Let me illustrate.
Under the PNC, the peoples of Guyana were used and abused, coercion was employed, local businesses ceased, the nation was in fear and Guyana on the whole was in a state of stagnation first, and then rapid decadence. Compare what obtains now with the pre-1992 days and if you (Mr. Malcolm Harripaul) are afraid to admit, then let us go into the streets of Guyana and ask the people. For example, the likes of you can write and say anything, businesses are blooming, all sectors are being heavily invested in, and all racial groups are respected and treated with utter respect. Now for some comments on some specific points in your verbose composition.
You mentioned that APNU’s Presidential Candidate, David Granger, was being attacked, and that the PPP’s leadership was bringing up the subject of party paramountcy. In your blind fury, you said that party paramountcy is more in the PPP/C than it was in the PNC.
However, where is your evidence? This is tantamount to saying Shakespeare was a great writer, but not bringing the evidence. I suggest that you come here and take to the streets and really find out if people in Guyana will ever want a taste of the PNC again. By the way, do you have an explanation for the changing names of the PNC? The PNC itself knows that it cannot be trusted, and so it is playing the game of different facades, but all know that the being is still the same.
Malcolm, you also mention that there was the lack of intellect of the PPP leaders. Well you need to substantiate this. You have a perception that is far removed from reality. Can you enter into an academic debate with say an Anil Nandlall or  a Charles Ramson Junior or a Dr. Prem Misir? Freddie Kissoon was coyed when his brazenness was met and overcome by Dr. Jagan’s astuteness and superior intellect.
I will love to see you take on President Jagdeo in matters of governance, politics and economics. The PPP/C boasts of many outstanding intellectuals. You need to stop assuming, and quickly too, and for your own good. You are likely to suffer like Freddie Kissoon (lose face).
In rounding off, I do suggest (I wish I could force you) that you get acquainted with the real story of Dr. Jagan. You need to understand something about the colluding forces of USA and Britain. They destroyed Guyana and gave us Burnham. Also, you should tell people who the real Dr. Walter Rodney was and what he believed in. President Jagdeo is Indian, but he is not Indocentric in thinking and practice. He has shattered the racial barrier. Can a similar statement be made of Dr. Rodney? And by the way, if the WPA had gain power, would elections have been the norm in Guyana? Be honest and answer.
