Culture Ministry to host Emancipation Show tomorrow

THE Main Street Compound of the Ministry of Culture Youth and Sports will, tomorrow afternoon, be the venue of a grand and colourful cultural extravaganza to launch Emancipation Celebrations 2011.
This show will be the second annual show staged by the Ministry to launch Emancipation Celebrations, the first one being held around the same time last year and a major difference being that this one is being held in the International Year for People of African Descent.

The formal aspect of the programme will include opening remarks by Minister of Culture Youth and Sports Dr. Frank Anthony.
Then, presentations by cultural artistes such as the International Dance Company, the All Steppers Dance Group, the Magic Finger African Drummers, poetry and storytelling as well as displays of African Fashions and a Libation Ceremony will take the programme well into the evening.
Organizers said that arrangements for an interesting and entertaining event have been finalized and the show should be even bigger and brighter than the first one held at the same venue last year.
The programme gets underway at 15:00 hrs (Clifford Stanley).
