TOSHAO Bertie Benjamin and some 151 eligible voters of Manawarin Village in the remote Moruca district of Barima-Waini, Region One, have pledged their support to the ruling People’s Progressive Party (PPP) at the upcoming national and regional elections.
Benjamin, speaking at a community meeting on Wednesday at Manawarin, said he and the villagers are pleased with the government’s performance since October 1992.
According to the Toshao, the PPP, which was founded by the late Father of the Nation, Dr Cheddi Jagan, has transformed the country in terms of development and has invested heavily in Amerindian communities.
The Toshao said his community, Manawarin, has benefited, and he wants the PPP to return to office to continue development so Manawarin can be developed even more.
