Bent Street Ball Weavers and New Castle United impress
ACTION in the inaugural GT&T FastBall tournament continued on Friday in Georgetown and Linden where Bent Street Ball Weavers and New Castle United dominated in their respective areas at the Georgetown Football Club (GFC) and Mackenzie Sports Complex (MSC) grounds.
In Linden, New Castle stormed to an 8–3 win over Linden Hospital Complex, Classic Seven needled Netrockers while Adam’s Rockers and Chrisitianburg Attackers gained walkover victories from Gold Hungry and One Mile All Stars.
Georgetown saw Bent Street Ball Weavers destroy Young Guns 7–0, Roxanne Warriors win 3–2 on penalty kicks against West Underdogs, Chelsea humble Middle East 4–0, North Street Warriors defeat Alexander Village Youth 2–0 and Reggae Boyz gain a walkover victory from Ketley All Star.
Shawn Seaforth scored all eight goals for New Castle as he netted thrice with the blueball in the 14th, 28th and 29th minutes, amounting to six goals, and he also netted twice (25th, 26th) with the normal ball.
In the Classic Seven/Netrockers showdown, a Kassim Abrams sixth-minute goal was enough to dispose of Netrockers.
Georgetown saw Anthony Abrams score a helmet-trick for Bent Street Ball Weavers while he received support from teammates Okenny Fraser who scored once with the normal ball and Andre Sukhoo who scored once with the blueball.
Ryan Legall and Nathole Nagaloo scored one goal each for Roxanne Warriors while Leon Cassius and Kellon Jonas were the scorers for West Underdogs which resulted in the match going to a penalty shootout with Roxanne Warriors emerging victorious.
In other results: Chelsea had Jermaine Munroe scoring once with the blueball while Nickel Permaul and Leroy Griffith scored once with the normal ball against Middle East. North Street Warriors’ Alpha Sylvester scored once with the blueball to dispose of Alexander Village Youths.
