THE Richard Ishmael Secondary School Old Students Association, with a vested interest in the sustainability of the school, last week handed over a number of books and bookshelves to the institution.
This, the association says, is the first phase of its Library project.
These successful alumni have advanced in diverse areas of discipline and are all committed to giving back to the school.
Even though the association is relatively young and financial resources are up to the cost of the project, the executives have networked with other former students as a strategy for assistance deemed necessary for the school.
One such strategy is a Meet and Greet activity planned to be executed at the ending of a symbolic handing over ceremony of the first phase of a library project.
This activity will allow the mingling of students and teachers from since the school was founded, rekindling old friendships and acquaintances.
The association had its first annual general meeting Saturday, when office bearers to serve on the executive committee were elected.
And on Sunday, further strengthening of the association was achieved through a Fun Day activity at Splashmins on the Soesdyke Linden Highway.
