PPP congratulates Grade Six students

The People’s Progressive Party (PPP)has congratulated all the students who recently sat the National Grade Six Assessment (NGSA) for their dedication and hard work which are evident  in the results. In a press release yesterday, the party extended congratulations to the Regma Primary School in Linden, Region 10 (Upper Demerara/Upper Berbice) which produced the top student. “The PPP is firmly convinced that the overall exam results are yet another firm indication of the Government’s successful drive to improve access to quality education all across our nation,” the release said.
According to the General Secretary and presidential candidate of the PPP, Mr. Donald Ramotar stated that he is extremely pleased at the achievements of the thousands of students who sacrificed so much and will now enjoy an even brighter future.
“I am delighted at the results and prospects for these students. Myself coming from a community far from the capital, Georgetown, which was the main base for education in my time, it gives me more satisfaction to see that quite a number of students in communities all across our nation have done well for themselves,” Ramotar declared.
Mr. Ramotar further added that under successive PPP/C Governments tremendous efforts have been made to improve access to education for all people. “No one can dispute this and I think this is vindication against those who have been trying their best to discredit our ongoing drive to empower our people by ensuring we constantly work to improve the access and standard of education,” Ramotar said.
He concluded by stating that Government’s efforts to improve education at all levels will be further revolutionized through its Information Technology plans for the nation. “Already significant investments have been made in this regard and this will definitely continue under the next PPP/C Government,” he said.
