WITH utmost jocularity I am forced to respond to Malcolm Harripaul’s fabrication that David Granger is virtually a ‘god.’ His adulation may be like that of the catamite and paramour, but it is most fulsome, and so evokes regurgitation. If you doubt me, just revisit KN Tuesday, June 28, 2011 and see for yourself. I do not mind admiration and praising personal icons, but I simply ask, that when Malcolm Harripaul is desperately seeking to ‘prop up’ a man, he must at least fabricate something believable.
First (just putting aside his attending and donning what), Malcolm Harripaul intimated that David Granger aroused the interest of Indo-Guyanese and Trinidadians, and claimed that this idol of his bears semblance to ANR Robinson. Stretching his imaginative faculty even further, the fabulist made me laugh, when he wrote that APNU’s presidential candidate elicited inquiries about his political belongings. Here’s for laughter: David Granger looks like an “older, wizened Obama” and a “spiritual leader.” This is subjectivism at its best.
Now I highlight two asinine statements in Malcolm Harripaul’s propagandizing piece. He said that people opined that “…Granger was too honest to be a politician; (and that) Granger made a good move to have Dr Rupert Roopnaraine with him…” Well both ‘pieces of figments’ smack of stupidity. I ask Malcolm Harripaul how come David Granger can be honest. He peddled for the PNC during the pre 1992 era, and was the ‘axe’ man for the many rigged elections. He is privy to information regarding the killing of Dr. Walter Rodney, and he is still silent. The PNC must account for the murdering of the WPA founder/leader. Also in this ‘supposed good’ move to embrace Dr. Rupert Roopnarine, I ask that you say what is good. Dr. Rupert Roopnarine all of a sudden has lost interest in the solving of the Rodney assassination. He, along with many WPA activists, at one time, clamored for it. There was even the ridiculous suggestion that the PPP/C was lagging in seeking an inquiry. Now I see abuser and victim congregating. What am I supposed to infer from this?
I end this missive by asking Malcolm Harripaul (since he keeps referring to those ‘not-knowing’ inquirers) to inform the general diaspora about David Granger. Resuscitate his involvement during elections under the PNC. Also ask why he, David Granger, is ‘mum’ on the Rodney slaying. And for closures, start a discussion on the ethical seriousness of WPA and PNCR being on the same stage. I shudder on behalf of die-hards WPAs-they are being sold out.
