The Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport will be holding seven summer camps across Region 2 during the school vacation period, July to August.
Senior Culture, Youth and Sports Officer of Region 2, Darshan Persaud, said the camps will be held at Ulele Primary School from July 11 – 15, Akawini Primary from July 18 – 22, and Queenstown Primary from  July 25 – 29.
Others will be held at C V Nunes Primary from August 1 – 5, Charity Primary from August 8 – 12, Taymouth Manor Primary from August 15 – 19, and Red Village Primary School, Onderneeming, from August 22 – 26.
Persaud said the programme of activities will include civil education first aid, HIV/AIDS awareness, environmental health, moral talk, art and craft, music and dance, sports, and the importance of youths to stay in school.
Several government officials at the regional level are expected to conduct lectures at the summer camps.
