TWO weeks ago, Christopher Mc Cullen, of no fixed place of abode, appeared before Magistrate Leslie Sobers in the Providence Magistrate’s Court, to answer a charge of possession of an offensive weapon.
Police had arrested him with a cutlass and the man, in his explanation to the court, then, said he is a weeder.
Magistrate Sobers, before reprimanding and discharging Mc Cullen, advised that, since he needed the cutlass to ply his trade, he should have it wrapped in old newspapers when having it on his person.
But on Tuesday, at about 21:30 hrs, Mc Cullen was again spotted and later arrested by the Police with the cutlass in his possession.
He was arrested and charged with possession of an offensive weapon ‘to wit’ a cutlass.
He made an appearance before Magistrate Sobers the following day and was handed a six months jail sentence.
