The police are investigating a fatal accident that occurred at about 21:00hrs  Saturday at Bath Settlement Public Road, West Coast Berbice.
Dead is Ryan Gajadhar, 21, of No. 9 Village, West Coast Berbice.
According to a police press release, initial investigations have revealed that Ryan Gajadhar was lying on the roadway and was run over by a motor vehicle.
He was pronounced dead on arrival at the Fort Wellington Hospital.
Meanwhile, the driver of the motor vehicle is in police custody assisting with investigations.
