A DEMERARA Distillers Limited (DDL) employee, allegedly, found with a bottle of El Dorado rum and, another, with liqueur in his crotch last May 13, is now the fugitive from an arrest warrant. Asif Ali, of Lot 1295 Diamond Housing Scheme, failed to appear, on Wednesday, before Magistrate Leslie Sobers at Providence Court, also on East Bank Demerara, where the warrant was issued.
Police Sergeant Shellon Daniels, prosecuting, told the court that the beverages, valued a total of $3,458, property of DDL, were recovered during a routine search of Ali as he was leaving the workplace.
The case, in which Ali is charged with larceny, will be called, again, on September 2. (W. Davidson)
