SOL Guyana Inc. is now closer to fully operating its local retail network with the commissioning of the Shell Regent Street Service Station Monday.
The network comprises 13 sites, ten of which are owned by the company and operated by retailers, and three of which are owned and operated by dealers. Later this week, the company will open another one of its sites, Shell Ogle Service Station. Sol currently supplies fuels, lubricants, bitumen and LPG through an extensive service station network and through its aviation, marine and commercial operations. It uses the Shell brand under license across its service station network, and acts as the sole contributor of Shell’s fuels and lubricants.
“We are extremely delighted over your presence here this afternoon to celebrate with us the official commissioning of Shell Regent Street Service Station, with Shell’s new image – the Shell Retail Visual Identity – Evolution. The upgrading and rebranding of this service station fits in with Sol’s strategic plan to deliver to our customers quality products and services at state of the art service stations now in Georgetown, Berbice, Linden and on the East and West Banks,” General Manager at Sol, Ken Figaro, said.
He addressed an audience that comprised, among others, Prime Minister Samuel Hinds, Chairman of Private Sector Commission Ramesh Dookhoo, and service station dealers.
This service station is now being operated by a husband and wife team, Colin and Theresa Thompson, “a young and very enterprising couple,” as described by Mr. Figaro.
“I also wish to remind motorists that at Shell Regent Street, you can enjoy the benefits of Shell V-Power gasoline…available exclusively from Shell and our highest performance fuel ever,” he said.
