NGSS defeat THS
NORTH Georgetown Secondary School (NGSS) male footballers continued their impressive showing in the Guyana Sports Development Foundation (GSDF)-organised Scotiabank/Pepsi-sponsored Academy football tournament with a 3-0 victory over Tutorial High School (THS) last Saturday.
Liberia’s Tiatum Tiatum scored a hat-trick, finding the back of the net in the 11th, 33td and 51st minutes at the Carifesta Sports Complex (CSC) ground for NGSS who have advanced to the semifinals which will be played next Saturday at the same venue. Tucville Secondary School and East Ruimveldt Secondary School will meet in the first female semifinal which kicks off at 0830hrs, while NGSS and Queen’s College will clash in the second female semifinals from 09:45hrs.
In other action from Saturday, Tutorial won by a walkover from Lodge Secondary while Christ Church and Tucville did not show up for their fixture in the female category, with Queen’s College conceding their second walkover in as many weeks in the male category, this time the beneficiary being St George’s High School.
In the male semifinals, Tucville Secondary and Lodge Secondary will come to grips from 11:00hrs and at 12:30hrs ERSS and Christ Church will clash. The final is scheduled for Saturday, June 25, 2011 at the either the CSC or Georgetown Football Club ground.
