Father, son on passport forgery charges

A FATHER and son appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry yesterday, charged with forgery and uttering a forged document.
Droopaul Dalloo and Boodhram Dalloo (no addresses given) pleaded not guilty to a joint forgery charge, which accused them of having, between September 1, 2006 and May 25, 2011,
conspired with person or persons unknown to forge a Republic of Guyana passport in favour of the latter, purporting to show that it was issued by the Central Immigration Office, knowing it to be false.
The son Boodhram, alone, faced the charge of having uttered the forgery in favour of himself, to an immigration officer on May 26, knowing it to be false.
Droopaul was granted $75,000 bail and Boodhram was ordered to post $150,000.
The cases were transferred to another court for June 14.
