ST. JOHN’S, Antigua, CMC – Patrons attending the Twenty20 International between West Indies and India on Saturday at the Queen’s Park Oval will get a double treat.
The West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) reached an agreement with the Trinidad and Tobago Cricket Board (TTCB) to stage an exhibition match between the West Indies High Performance team and the T&T national team.
“In the second T20 match, starting at 2 p.m., T&T, led by Daren Ganga will play the High Performance team in what is expected to be a keen contest, as the Trinidadians continue their preparations for participation in the Champions League Twenty20,” said a WICB media release.
“Exciting rising stars Devon Thomas, Kieran Powell, Brandon Bess, Jason Holder, Veerasammy Permaul, Shannon Gabriel, and others will be on show for the High Performance team, which is currently in the second semester of the first year at the UWI Cave Hill campus in Barbados.”
T&T’s line-up is expected to include Dwayne Bravo, a member of the Chennai Super Kings side that won Saturday’s Indian Premier League final, as well as Kieron Pollard, who played for the Mumbai Indians in the same competition.
