THE wife of senior medical doctor Dr Ramsundar Doobay, Mrs. Sharanie Doobay, 58 was found murdered last evening in their Echilibar Villas, Campbellville home.
When the Guyana Chronicle arrived on the scene, ranks of the Guyana Police Force were at the home conducting their investigations, while members of the medical fraternity were at the house, along with family members of the Doobays. The doctor made the gruesome discovery sometime after 18:00 hrs.
It is reported that her husband Dr Ramsundar Doobay, the Head of Internal Medicine at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation, found the body of his wife in the kitchen on entering the home.
According to reports, the woman was lying in a pool of blood with her head bludgeoned. Sources at the scene said that robbery seemed not to be the motive since a number of valuable articles were recovered in the home, including cash, jewellery and a licenced firearm. The body was later removed from the home.
