FOLLOWING the tragic loss of their secretary Shaundell Samaroo, who died in a motor vehicle accident last month, the Guyana Netball Association (GNA) has elected Mrs Shanomae Pearce-Baptiste to fill the position of secretary. Mrs Baptiste is currently employed at Scotiabank and is a member of the Emanie Netball Club. She is no stranger to the sport and has twice captained the senior national netball team, of which she is a member.
As one of the founders of the Emanie Netball Club, who on May 24, 2011, celebrated their 14th anniversary, Shanomae has served as vice-president, secretary and treasurer and will be a great asset to the GNA.
