Scottsburg, Tucber Park to clash in historic final today
THE first-ever Inter-club Under-13 finals in the history of Berbice cricket will be played today at the Albion Community Centre Ground, when Scottsburg United Cricket Club of Corriverton face Tucber Park of New Amsterdam in the BCB/Ricks and Sari Agro Industries Under-13 Tournament. The tournament which started late last year is sponsored by Carlos Rodrigues of Ricks and Sari Agro Industries and has been described as very successful so far with the unearthing of numerous talented Under-13 players for the Ancient County.
Tucber Park, who defeated Albion in their semi-finals clash, will start as favourites with Keirre Henry, Joseph Giddings, Enoch Carmichael, Michael Naimatali and Yuvindra Sukhraj leading a powerful batting lineup capable of scoring heavily.
Pacers Renaldo Adams and Enoch Carmichael will share the new ball and will receive support from off-spinner Henry and left-arm spinner Naimatali and Gavin Moriah Jr.
The highly talented Deon Esna will spearhead Scottsburg United‘s effort with both bat and ball. In the batting department he should receive good  support from Mohamed Deochand, Talib Park, Vadanand Sugrim, Chavin Arnachalam and Shamnarine Seenauth.
The bowling attack of Scottsburg has proved to be very efficient in the tournament so far and with Esna and Deochand bowling well, Tucber Park will have their work cut out to score heavily. The duo will receive support from Aslim Baksh, Kelford Park and Joshua Rawlins.
Play  gets under way at 10:00hrs and representatives of the Berbice Cricket Board and Ricks and Sari Agro Industries will distribute the prizes after the match.
