WITHOUT much of an investigation, it is clearly manifesting that David Granger as the PNCR’s presidential candidate at the upcoming elections is discomforting for a large section of that party, its hierarchy included. Granger won the PNCR’s presidential candidate race by receiving 42% of the votes cast, while 58% voted for the other candidates. What is apparent, however, is that there is great disenchantment with Granger’s candidacy in the PNCR and such a notion is further solidified when one examines the fact that Granger only  managed to beat his closest rival, Carl Greenidge, by a mere 13 votes. Greenidge’s noticeable absence along with that of Aubrey Norton, Aubrey Armstrong, Deborah Backer, Vincent Alexander, Richard Van West Charles left many to assume that despite promises of working together there is still some amount of bitterness being felt by those that challenged Granger.
With Robert Corbin remaining at the helm of the party it is also being said countrywide that Granger is Corbin’s ‘creature.’ I note one recent letter writer’s comments about Granger being trained ‘to serve’ and his years of ‘service’ to the PNCR while being in the hierarchy of the Army. Could it be that this is what is causing so many to have doubts about his leadership?
