THE AFC is more or less telling their supporters that the PPP has departed from Dr Jagan’s philosophies. This bamboozles me, given that some of the party’s current executive members, a la Sasenarine Singh, Tarron Khemraj et al, are on record criticising those very ideals.
So I guess readers may understand my confusion now that the AFC has suddenly got 20/20 vision and sees Dr. Jagan’s policies as a catalyst of growth in this country under the present administration.
The PPP today has not departed in any way from the legacy of the father of the nation, in fact many notable features can be easily identified:
*Our Banking system is still insulated
*People centered development
*Protection of the environment (LCDS)
*Having the common touch
The AFC has embraced imperialists and colonialist idealism. They run to the US Government time and time again complaining for every cut or bruise they may come across, failing to realize that it is these very creatures that have left Guyana a divided country. It is only the PPP/C that has been able to bridge the racial divide and now the AFC being true to their colours are courting the very vermin which instituted the policy of divide and conquer.
The AFC is obviously a visionless bunch.
