PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad (CMC) – Deandra Dottin scored an amazing double-hundred to set Technocrats up for a 141-run victory over San Raphael in the Women’s Twenty20 league competition last Sunday.
The West Indies Women’s all-rounder slammed eight fours and an incredible 25 sixes in an unbeaten 203 off just 62 balls to anchor Technocrats to 297 for five from their allotted 20 overs at the Arima West Secondary School ground.
Dottin, the first woman to score an T20 International hundred against South Africa in the Women’s Twenty20 World Cup last year in St Kitts, played a dot on her first ball, and promptly hit the next three deliveries for six and never looked back.
She shared 56 for the first wicket with Oire Trotman, and put on 125 for the second with Whitney Cudjoe.
Both Trotman and Cudjoe scored seven.
Fellow West Indies Women’s player Stacy Ann King also played aggressively, belting 39 off 14 balls towards the end of the innings.
In reply, San Raphael reached 122 for five in their 20 overs, with Technocrats conceding a whopping 53 extras.
Candace La Borde was the pick of bowlers with four for 23 in four overs, and Dottin bowled three wicket-less overs for 14.
