Meddling mother-in-law lands man in court

RAJENDRA called ‘Ravi’ of Lot 4093 Tuschen Housing Scheme, East Bank Essequibo, appeared yesterday before Magistrate Sherdel Isaacs-Marcus, charged for unlawful assault and threatening behaviour.
He pleaded not guilty to the offence, particulars of which stated that, on April 16, he used threatening behaviour to Mahadai Puran and, on April 18, he unlawfully assaulted Somari Roopnarine.

The defendant’s lawyer, Mr. James Bond, told the Court that Ravi has a meddling mother-in-law (one of the virtual complainants) who tried to disrupt the marriage between the defendant and his wife.
Bond also noted that these are malicious charges against the defendant to cause him financial strain.
The defendant was granted $10,000 bail for each offence and is to return to court on June 6. (Juliet BachuAlleged duck, bicycle thief remanded
