Vlissengen Road murder accused loses no-case submission

– accused Rayburn Harvey to begin defence today
THE accused in the Vlissengen Road murder, Rayburn Harvey, had his no-case submission rejected by Justice Dawn Gregory yesterday.
Harvey, represented by Mr. Ronald Burch-Smith, Attorney-at- Law, will be called upon to make a defence before the jury today.
Prosecutors Teshana James and Miss Rhondel Weaver had set out to prove that the accused, Rayburn Harvey, had on the 18th day of March 2006, at Vlissengen Road, murdered Samantha Belle.
Following the close of the case for the prosecution, defence counsel Mr. Ronald Burch-Smith, had made a defence no-case submission in the absence of the jury.
The ruling by the judge was delivered yesterday.
