I write in reference to the practice by owners of vehicles, particularly heavy-duty trucks, who habitually park their vehicles very close to busy intersections in the city. My particular concern involves a heavy-duty truck that has been parked at the corner of Norton and Victor Streets, Lodge, for sometime now. To compound the situation, there is an over-growth of grass on the parapet at this particular corner, which prevents drivers from seeing any oncoming west-bound vehicle. A driver going in the northerly direction, either seeking to gain access to or drive across Norton Street, has to practice extreme caution, or risk finding themselves in the path of a speeding South Ruimveldt minibus.
It is my hope that the relevant authorities would assess this situation themselves and have this situation rectified, or we can all wait until an accident occurs at this very junction before any action is taken.
