LINDEN George (no address given) pleaded not guilty to break and enter and larceny yesterday and was refused bail by Acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry, Particulars of the offence with which he is charged said he broke and entered the store of Jasmattie Samad and stole booty worth $1.5M.
Police Corporal Venetta Pindar, prosecuting, successfully objected to his being granted pre-trial freedom, on the ground that he has no fixed place of abode and is not likely to return for trial.
Remanding George to prison, until April 28, the magistrate also ordered that he undergo a psychiatric evaluation.
