Playing cheap politics with crime

THERE have been some positive developments in the fight against crime and I must say law enforcement units need to be commended for this. Over the last few weeks,  major drug busts as well as notable arrests have been made as the police put a considerable dent in criminal activity. Again,  I say thumbs up for the guys in uniform as they go forward to make our country a safer place to live in.
However, there is a strange silence from the opposition claptraps, reasons being there is no carrion to feed on. The nature of their character has been dealt a severe blow by the very success of law enforcement and this is cause for worry in their camp.

For this cause, they lack even the common courtesy to come out from under their rock or whatever hiding place and say a simple ‘thank you’. The problem with these people is that they crave attention and they do this by politicizing crime; of course, that’s the way they get cheap political mileage.

Maligning the police while playing the political card will get us nowhere; so let us set aside this nonsensical approach and deal with the issue that confronts  us all, put our heads together and seek solutions rather than pointing dirty political fingers.
