WASIR ALI, 37, was remanded yesterday after he appeared before Magistrate Sherdel Isaccs-Marcus, charged with breaking and entering and larceny.
He pleaded not guilty to the charge, which stated that between March 31 and April 2, at Anna Catherina, West Coast Demerara , he broke and entered the storeroom belonging to Raiwattie Ragunandan and stole a quantity of watches, shampoos, face creams and artificial jewelry, all valued at $157,500.
Prosecutor, Police Sergeant Sherwin Matthews, objected to bail on the grounds that the defendant is not a first offender and the nature of the offence.
He was remanded to prison until April 19.
