THE Ministry of Public Works is collaborating with the Regional Administration in Region Two (Pomeroon/Supenaam) to install more street lights along the Essequibo Coast Public Road. Regional Chairman Alli Baksh said the work has started and Cummings Electrical Company is, currently, planting poles along the road shoulders, from Bush Lot to Taymouth Manor.
He said the project is an extension of the first phase which catered for the commercial centre of Anna Regina township from Henrietta to Bush Lot.
Mr. Baksh said the continuation will see from Anna Regina to Walton Hall lighted as well and, eventually, all along the 38 miles roadway, in four phases.
He said he is looking forward for when the entire route, from Supenaam to Charity, will have street lights, by year end.
