PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad (CMC) – Teenaged Guyanese Trayon Bobb was on target for Caledonia AIA but it was not enough as his side twice squandered the lead to plunge to a 3-2 loss to title-holders Joe Public in their Pro Bowl semi-final last weekend. Caledonia took the lead after seven minutes when Joe Public captain and central defender Carlyle Mitchell headed past his own goalkeeper Marvin Phillip.
Andre Toussaint replied for Joe Public in the 24th minute, however, after a collision in the 18-yard box between Jamaican goalkeeper Kevin Graham and Guyanese Walter Moore.
Three minutes before the interval, the 18-year-old Bobb fired Caledonia back in front to give his side a 2-1 advantage at halftime at the Hasely Crawford Stadium.
Nippy winger Micah Lewis brought Joe Public level for the second time in the match in the 70th minute and Toussaint netted the winner with his second of the night 10 minutes from time, to hand Joe Public victory.
In Friday’s final, Joe Public will meet 2004 and 2007 winners W Connection who beat Defence Force 5-3 on penalties after the game finished nil-all in regular time.
Guyanese Bobb’s strike fails to save Caledonia
