-Some operators demanding higher fares
CONTRARY to what some minibus operators are saying to commuters, Minister of Tourism, Industry and Commerce, Manniram Prashad, has reinforced government’s position of no increase in minibus fares at this point in time, as the price of gasoline is still below the $1,000 mark. He added that all of the recognised minibus associations, with whom he has been constantly consulting, have agreed to adhere to the old fare structure.
Commuters are therefore urged not to be bullied into paying any increase. (GINA)
