RAMESHWAR Petamber of 215 Good Hope, East Coast Demerara was on Thursday last brought before Magistrate Shurdell Isaacs-Marcus at the Vigilance Magistrate’s Court, charged with the assault of his wife Sukwanie Kissoon so as to cause her actual bodily harm.

Pitamber told the court that he has been living with the virtual complainant for some time along with one of his three children from a previous relationship.

However, before the defendant could have explained further, Kissoon interjected and ironically told the court that she never lived with Petamber and that it was Petamber who was ‘living by her’.

In the end, Magistrate Isaacs-Marcus cautioned the chicken vendor that while the matter is before the court, he is not to further assault, interact or interfere with Kissoon.

He was subsequently granted $30,000 bail.  (Odella Patterson)
