THE charge against Isaacs Dellmohamed, for illegal possession of ammunition, was dismissed on Monday by Magistrate Hazel Octive-Hamilton.
Particulars of the offence had accused him of having a 7.62×51 bullet, on September 14 last, at Cheddi Jagan International Airport, Timehri, without being the holder of a firearm licence. But the magistrate found Dellmohamed not guilty because the prosecution failed to present the evidence that he was unlicensed.
Magistrate Octive-Hamilton said the prosecution presented facts to show that the defendant, indeed, had the possession but the proof that he had no licence was lacking.
