(REUTERS) – Spencer Hawes and Elton Brand each scored 14 points to steer the Philadelphia 76ers to a 89-86 win over the Boston Celtics.
Andre Iguodala contributed 13 points and Jodie Meeks chipped in with 12 as the 76ers (34-31) upset the Eastern Conference leading Celtics (46-17).
The Celtics recovered from a 10-point deficit in the third quarter to lead 81-79 when Ray Allen drained a three-pointer with just over six minutes left on the clock.
However, Philadelphia outscored Boston 10-5 down the stretch with Jrue Holiday and Louis Williams both making jump shots to seal victory.
Jeff Green scored a game-high 18 points for the Celtics while Nenad Krstic had 16 points and 15 rebounds.
