Friends and colleagues – an erroneous report is circulating to the effect that I have been appointed the OAS Secretary-General’s Special Representative on the Guyana-Venezuela border controversy. This is incorrect. The only appointment that I have on this subject is with the UN. The source of this report appears to be an item from the Jamaica Information Service.
I have brought this to the attention of the JIS (and the Jamaica Observer newspaper, which picked it up) and hope they will rectify it.
