Party-pooper in de National Paku Competition
DE Bluetoother know how people like fuh celebrate things here nationally. Only recently plenty thousands come out and celebrate Mash. Soon dem gon celebrate Phagwah and Easter. Some even celebrating Lent now. Guyanese just like being national. Anything national dem involve; National Duck Curry competition, National Chutney competition, National Calypso competition and so on. Look out fuh National Black Pudding competition and National Paku Stew competition.

The competition does be plenty party. Some does even gat Party competition which ain’t gat nothing to do with elections. But like everything else, it gat a party pooper. Again, not related to elections. It gat a man who want to bring back a national thing. De problem is that nobody ain’t celebrating or planning fuh party over it. De man is Ballot Box David. He running as de Congress Place candidate fuh de elections. He is de National party pooper.

When he was in de military, he instil fear in people. Everybody did frighten he especially when dem see de ballot box disappear. Now, he trying fuh “sofen” he position. He going national. He see de success o’ other national thing mention above. He trying to be in. So he seh if he win, which is highly impossible, he gon bring back National Service (NS). Right away everybody get frighten again. Dem who ain’t know ask dem who know. De harrowing tales mek dem more frighten.

Is de first time that people who like to celebrate national thing get frighten by the word “national”. Some gat different meaning fuh NS; New Slavery; New S**T and National Sin. Even Nuff Shame get mentioned. Nobody ain’t want be slaves nor wuk pun a coconut farm fuh de Palm Tree. Dem days done. But de Ballot Box man ain’t giving up. He going ahead with he plan fuh he NS. Dem boys seh only somebody who out o’ dem mind would bring back National Service. Don’t be surprise if yuh see David in de National Paku competition with Freddie as he assistant. Hmmm!
