An intruder was yesterday caught red-handed removing, without permission, a pedal cycle, the property of Clifford Liverpool, an employee of Bishops’ High School, from the school compound  around 15:00hrs.

The move was observed by a public-spirited person who raised an alarm and the police were called.  The would be thief was apprehended,  arrested and taken to the Brickdam Police Station.

The incident is reminiscent of one several years ago, in which a pupil of Sacred Heart Primary School was intercepted by an intruder in the compound who demanded the child’s cycle.  Determined not to lose his cycle, the boy, about 9, held on to it, at which the thief fatally stabbed him and made off with the cycle.
