THE body of an elderly woman was discovered by two female students of South Ruimveldt Secondary School yesterday afternoon at her home in South Ruimveldt Park. The woman seemed to have been strangled.
Najiean Sadick, in her mid sixties, was found in her kitchen in the bottom flat of her two flat house at 1215 Gaulding Place, South Ruimveldt Park, Georgetown, shortly after 15:00hrs yesterday.
The students went to her home to purchase snacks which she sold to school children for the past 20 years.
When she did not answer their call, they went into the kitchen and saw her body on the ground.
Her hands were tied and a piece of gauze was around her neck. The house was ransacked.
The woman’s children reside overseas and she was living alone.
The police were summoned at the scene yesterday and whisked away the two students who discovered the body.
The body is at the Lyken Funeral Home awaiting a post mortem.
