AN ELDERLY confidence trickster woman has fleeced several people in Essequibo of money and foodstuff. The 60-year-old, of East Indian descent, pretends to be in great distress, tells her victims that a relative of hers has died and the body is being kept at Suddie Funeral Parlour until she gets money to take delivery of the corpse for burial.
She displays grief and weeps openly while seeking help to also host a wake and she has secured the sympathy of those who believed and have given her money, milk, coffee, sugar and other foodstuff.
The sexagenarian deceived residents of Reliance, Affiance and Cullen, all on Essequibo Coast, before her scheme was exposed.
