Estranged designer Rose fined for abusing mother-in-law

TREVOR Rose and Michelle Cole, a well-known couple in the fashion world, have separated after five years of marriage.
Attorney-at-law Mr. Nigel Hughes made the disclosure, to Acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry on Thursday, when he appeared for Rose who faced three charges.
Rose, a clothing designer, of Lot 18 Cedar Street, Lamaha Gardens, Georgetown, pleaded guilty to using abusive language to his mother-in-law, Aula Cole, and threatening language to his wife and assaulting her to cause actual bodily harm.
The offences were committed on January 20 on West Ruimveldt Front Road, also in the city.
Hughes said Rose now lives alone, being estranged from his wife, who is pregnant with their third child.
Michelle Cole declined to give evidence against Rose and the charges with respect to her were dismissed, but he was fined $10,000 with the alternative of two weeks imprisonment in relation to the abuse, and placed on a bond to be of good behaviour for one year.
