Mockery of the law in Region 2

A mockery in the administration of the law enacted by Parliament of this country is being made by police ranks in Region # 2 which stretches from Pomeroon to Supenaam with the implementation and execution of a different one of their own ever so much detrimental to the society here. For no justifiable reason, my private car PKK 7169 was impounded at the Anna Regina Divisonal Headquarters for seven days and it could well have been for a longer period had contact not been made with the Office of the Ministry of Home Affairs from where instructions were given for its release.
Thee is no section of the law that empowers the police to do so with the ultra-vires action just creating unnecessary suffering and inconvenience having regard to the fact that my vehicle was not involved in an accident nor was there any violation pertaining to its use.
Quite manifestly, the police are using their own law ignoring the legitimate one to do what they just feel like doing with this modus operandi being very bad, senseless and worthless in promoting more harm than good.
Whilst driving Thursday (2011-01-20) I was stopped by a traffic constable who informed me that he was instructed by the sergeant in charge of the Traffic Division to drive into Anna Regina Police Station compound which I did.
The sergeant then related to me that he had received information that I was using my private car for hire when this was not true and there is not even an iota of evidence to give support as it was just speculative and misleading.
My vehicle is being used strictly in a private capacity mainly to transport children and grand children of family members to and from school.
The harassment meted out to me worsened when I contacted the Divisional Commander with his deputy being present at his office about my predicament with going there just being useless.
Much to my surprise, the Commander instructed the Traffic Sergeant to charge me and place me before the court for Tuesday (2011-01-25) even without having committed any offence.
Eventually, I was released on $10,000 cash bail which prompted me to ask the Sergeant “Wha you goe charge me fah” – with his response being “when you goe to court you goe know”.
On the date given to attend court, I was there in company with my parents and after the entire day was wasted with precious time and hard to get money on travelling going down the drain, no charge was filed against me, and it is obvious that none will ever reach the court from the fact that I did not commit any offence whatsoever. The bail money is yet to be refunded and when this will be done is still unknown to cause yet another problem.
The police should see it as compulsory not to confuse their operations within the ambit of the law and not to violate it from an abuse of power as was very much evident here.
