RAUL Coleman (no address given) was remanded to prison yesterday by Magistrate Nyasha Williams-Hatmin when he appeared at the Vreed-en-Hoop Magistrate’s Court to answer charges of robbery under arms and narcotics. The defendant pleaded not guilty to the robbery under arms charge, particulars of which stated that on January 24, he robbed Simone Constantine of 2 gold rings valued $40,000 using a cutlass as his weapon.
The virtual complainant made a report and, on January 25, the police went to the defendant’s address where a search was conducted and 17 grammes of marijuana were found.
The defendant also pleaded not guilty to the narcotics charge. He was remanded to prison and is to make his next court appearance on March 17.
