Two lorries collide at Bartica

…21 barrels of fuel spills on to the roadway
Two motor lorries collided at Sixth Avenue and Third Street in Bartica just after midday yesterday, one laden with drums of fuel that spilled out onto the roadway.
Soon the area was reeking with gasoline fumes.
The motor lorry laden with the fuel is owned by Ganga Persaud of 160 Mongrippa Hill, while the other lorry is owned by Krishnadat Persaud of Sixth Avenue.

The lorry with the fuel was   travelling  south on  Sixth  Avenue,   approaching  the  Third  Street  junction,  when  it  collided   with  the other lorry travelling  west
along  Third  Street,
On  impact , the lorry with the fuel turned turtle and spilled 21 drums of fuel on to the surrounding area.
Only the drivers were in the vehicles and they escaped unhurt.

This  is  the  second major  road  accident  to   occur  in Bartica  since the year started.
On New Year’s Day, a car turned turtle and slammed into a wooden bridge on Sixth Street.
