All male panel sworn for rape trial
AN ALL male jury was sworn in, at the Berbice Assizes Monday, for the rape trial of Kenston Drake.
But Justice Franklyn Holder adjourned the proceedings, to today, at the request of Defence Counsel Norma Lewis.
The attorney-at-law attached to the Legal Aid Clinic said she had only been retained earlier that day but the judge informed her that the October criminal sessions will be closed shortly and the February sessions will commence on the first day of that month.
Daniels is indicted for having carnal knowledge of a female without her consent on January 11, 2009. State Counsel Dionne Mc Cammon is prosecuting.
