THE police on Tuesday discovered nine kilos, 490 grammes of cocaine concealed in a battery-powered wheelchair used by a female American citizen as she was on her way to the Cheddi Jagan International Airport to join a flight for the United States. Acting on a tip-off, the police intercepted the vehicle with the woman on the East Bank of Demerara.
The woman and the male driver of the vehicle have been arrested and are in police custody assisting with investigations.
